CAD Technician

As a CAD Technician, your role involves creating and modifying technical drawings, design plans, and construction drawings using computer-aided design software like AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks. You will provide crucial technical support to engineers, architects, and designers in industries such as architecture, engineering, manufacturing, and product design. Your key responsibilities will include: - Drawing and modification: - Prepare 2D or 3D drawings based on engineer or designer sketches, specifications, and requirements. - Modify and update design drawings to ensure compliance with design standards and project specifications. - Output construction, as-built, and production drawings for use on site or in manufacturing. - Design support: - Assist engineers in solution refinement and technical documentation preparation. - Translate conceptual designs into executable construction/fabrication drawings. - Provide relevant support such as bill of materials, dimensions, and process. - Drawing management and standardization: - Ensure drawings comply with industry standards (e.g. ISO, BS, ANSI, DIN). - Establish and maintain drawing archives and version management. - Share and update drawing data with your team to maintain consistency. - Collaboration and Communication: - Work closely with engineers, architects, fabrication teams, and construction crews. - Participate in project meetings to understand design requirements and technical changes. - Report the progress of drawings to the project manager or superior. - Technology and tool application: - Use CAD and related software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, SolidWorks, etc.) to complete drawing tasks. - Apply BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools (such as Revit, Navisworks) for model support (if relevant). - Continuously update professional skills and software operation capabilities. Qualifications required for this role include: - College degree or above, major in engineering drawing, architecture, mechanical design, civil engineering, etc. - 1+ years of CAD drafting or design support experience. - Proficient in using mainstream drawing software such as AutoCAD, and mastering 2D and 3D drawing skills. - Familiar with relevant industry drafting standards and specifications. - Good communication and collaboration skills, able to work efficiently in a team.
