The ideal candidate for this position should have a strong passion for culinary excellence and a keen eye for detail. As a part of the team, you will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure exceptional food quality and presentation. With at least 2+ years of culinary or kitchen experience as a Jr. Sous Chef or Sous Chef, you should possess excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Being highly organized with excellent attention to detail is crucial for success in this role. A Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management would be an added advantage. Your key responsibilities as a sous chef will include supervising kitchen staff by leading and directing line cooks to ensure they follow recipes and maintain proper food handling practices. Collaborating with the head chef on menu planning and development is essential, where you will create new menu items, adjust existing dishes, and uphold food quality and presentation standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for training and mentoring junior chefs by providing on-the-job training, teaching culinary techniques, and maintaining standards. Managing inventory, tracking food supplies, and controlling costs to ensure profitability are also part of your role. You will oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring a smooth workflow, addressing any issues that arise, and actively participating in food preparation, especially during busy periods.
