Position Overview

Business Development Associate

The ideal candidate is a structured thinker, strong communicator, and execution-focused leader who can operate directly with the CEO to scale iPUMPNET’s national footprint.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Sales (Government & PSU Focus)

  • Lead business development efforts with government water utilities, municipal corporations, urban development departments, and public-sector undertakings.
  • Manage end-to-end sales cycles including lead qualification, proposal development, presentations, negotiations, and coordination with internal teams.
  • Build strong relationships with senior government officials, engineering departments, consulting partners, and system integrators.
  • Support participation in tenders, RFPs, and technical evaluations for IIoT/SCADA/digital transformation projects.

2. Strategic Growth & Market Expansion

  • Work directly with the CEO to plan and execute strategic growth initiatives across new geographies, market segments, and product lines.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking, pricing strategy, and market mapping exercises aligned with iPUMPNET’s multi-year expansion plan.
  • Identify potential partners (OEMs, EPCs, consulting firms, system integrators) to enhance distribution and implementation capability.

3. Techno-Functional Support for Product & Implementation

  • Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to translate customer requirements into features, workflows, and technical specifications.
  • Support technology implementation efforts including deployment planning, data requirement mapping, and integration with existing SCADA/PLC systems.
  • Drive enhancements in the project management lifecycle to improve speed, reliability, and client satisfaction across implementations.

4. Project Management & Customer Success

  • Own customer relationships from onboarding through full deployment, ensuring timely execution and high-quality project delivery.
  • Track project progress, risks, and dependencies; prepare dashboards and management updates for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collect feedback from field teams and clients to improve operational efficiency and product adoption.

Required Experience & Qualifications

Professional Experience

  • 3–5 years at a Tier-1 Strategy Consulting Firm

    (Big 4 Strategy – EY-Parthenon, KPMG Lighthouse/Strategy, Deloitte S&O, PwC Strategy&, or similar).
  • Experience in

    techno-functional roles

    , preferably involving digital transformation, IIoT/SCADA, or technology-driven operational improvement.
  • Proven work with

    government clients and public-sector organisations

    , especially in tenders, implementation programs, or institutional sales.
  • Exposure to

    technology implementation

    , product roadmaps, or product management in industrial-tech, infra-tech, or SaaS products.
  • Experience in project management for large, multi-stakeholder deployments (technical, operational, and commercial).

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Management, or related technical discipline.
  • MBA or equivalent is a plus (not mandatory).
