Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Golang Developer with a minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience exclusively in Golang . You will architect, develop, and optimise large-scale backend systems, mentor engineers, and play a leading role in critical production support, including immediate response to P1 issues. Key Responsibilities System Architecture & Development: Architect and build complex, distributed backend systems and services in Golang, with an emphasis on performance, scalability, and reliability. Technical Leadership: Mentor and guide a team of backend engineers, conduct code reviews, set best practices, and provide technical direction. API & Microservices: Design, build, and secure RESTful APIs and microservices using modern communication patterns (e.g., pub/sub, event-driven). Cloud Infrastructure: Lead deployments using Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD (preferably GitLab); manage and optimise cloud-native systems. Observability & Monitoring: Champion end-to-end observability using Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana, Sentry, or equivalent tools. P1 Issue Management: Act as the key engineer for P1 (Priority 1) incidents —respond instantly, own the investigation, root cause analysis, and resolve production issues with zero downtime . Incident Response & Leadership: Lead incident calls, collaborate across teams, communicate with stakeholders, and ensure transparency during critical events. Post-Incident Analysis: Document incident resolutions, run blameless post-mortems, and drive continuous process improvement to prevent future occurrences. Agile Collaboration: Work in Agile/Scrum teams, actively contribute to planning and process improvements, and use tools such as Jira and Confluence. On-Call Rotation: Participate in, and help optimise, the on-call rotation with the engineering team. Required Skills & Experience Minimum 5 years of full-time, hands-on experience in Golang (Go) development. Proven expertise in architecting and maintaining large-scale, distributed backend systems. Experience in technical team leadership or mentoring. Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and automated CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitLab). Track record of building and securing RESTful APIs and microservices. Practical experience with observability and monitoring tools: Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana, Sentry, etc. Demonstrated history of responding to and resolving P1 issues in production environments. Comfortable with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Bonus Skills (Nice to Have) Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, NetSuite, etc.). Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL or other RDBMS. Familiarity with pub/sub architectures, data pipelines, or batch processing. Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). Experience in technical recruitment or interviewing.
