1. Ensures that the right resource is available internally when required to meet the customer volume demands. Schedules and forecasts the right volumes of materials, goods and products inbound to the business from its supply chain companies. 2.0 Overall, Purpose of the Role: 1. To ensure that strategic material planning processes are in place to enable operational and production continuity. Takes a co-ordinating lead, working closely with internal and external parties to ensure supply of materials is in place to satisfy production requirements. Able to deliver efficient, effective and flexible solutions to meet production requirements. 2. Overall responsibility for determining the production capacity needed by an organisation to meet changing demands for its products. Understands how the business operates and plans for future capacity requirements. Undertakes planning activities to ensure targets are met and optimises manufacturing efficiency, stock levels and costs. 3. This role holds people and budgetary management responsibilities dependent on the size and structure of the organization. 3.0 Reporting To: Planning Manager 4.0 Key Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to): 4.1 Task Management 1. Prepare weekly and monthly Production Plan and Work in Progress sheet. Discuss and approve the same with Production Assistant General Manager. 2. Prepare work order from sales order and forward it to design for preparing BOM for the same. 3. Plan equipment, raw materials and manpower requirements to meet production schedule. 4. Generate material requisition of required raw material for particular Work order and forward to store. 5. Prepare Purchase requisition of raw material that not available in stock and forward it to purchase after approval of production manager. 6. Assist purchasing unit in coordinating and planning supplier deliveries. 7. Identify new suppliers and manage existing suppliers to meet production needs. 8. Prepare job cards for each machining parts (Inhouse or Outsource) that incudes detail part processes require to finish the job. Attach part drawing control copy with Job Card. 9. Same time issue material requisition slip to store to prepare required raw material as per Job Card. 10. Issue the Job Card to Production Manager with Required raw material as per job card. Take receiving sign of Raw material in issue register. 11. Prepare tracker for daily production report and progress report for the same and update in ERP 12. Oversee labelling processes to ensure correct parts/finished assemblies reach correct users at the correct time. 13. Assist Sales unit in coordinating and planning customer orders and deliveries. 14. Identify delivery exception and provide alternative solutions. 15. Every week arrange review meeting with Production team and Production manager. Evaluate production control activities to ensure that final product meets customer 4.2 General Management 1. Coordinate with quality control, store, purchase and other staff. 2. Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay. 3. Develop process improvements for inventory, manufacturing and production control systems. 4. Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple products. 5. Ensure that material scheduling strategy and processes are in place and work effectively in order to ensure material supply meets production requirements with minimum stock levels, whilst optimising costs 6. Take ownership of material planning issues that arise, including over or under delivery and take any follow up actions especially in the event of material shortages that affect production 7. Ensure the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and inventory accuracy at all times and manage and control inventory levels and movements 8. Take overall responsibility for obsolete parts process and ensure business is left with minimum liability and minimal waste 9. Monitor inventory status and generate inventory reports to Production Manager 10. Manage inventory risk and ensure that contingency plans are in place 11. Seek and recommend solutions to overcome issues arising in order to meet production requirements and address operational risks 12. Support continuous improvement initiatives 13. Ensure that any Material Requirements Planning system (MRP) in place is effective and that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required 14. Ensure strategic and operational information, reports and metrics are available to share with others in the business as and when required 15. Report on achievement of targets and identify any corrective action 16. Assess existing capacity and develop operational plans and forecasts based on future plans for demand 17. Analyze specifications and capacity and undertake appropriate calculations to estimate job requirements in terms of labour, tools, materials and resources
