Job Description – Server / Storage / Network & Firewall Engineer Position Title: IT Infrastructure Engineer (Server, Storage, Network & Security) Role Overview: The IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for deploying, configuring, managing, and supporting the enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, network switches, and firewalls. The role ensures high availability, optimal performance, and security of the organization's IT environment._ Key Responsibilities: Server Management Install, configure, and administer Windows/Linux servers (physical and virtual). Manage server roles such as AD, DNS, DHCP, file services, virtualization, backup, patching, etc. Monitor server performance, resource utilization, and capacity planning. Troubleshoot server-related issues and ensure minimal downtime. Storage Administration Manage SAN/NAS storage solutions, RAID configurations, LUN provisioning, and zoning. Perform storage expansion, disk allocation, capacity optimization, and replication. Maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures for critical systems. Network (Switches) Management Install and configure Layer 2/Layer 3 network switches. Manage VLANs, trunking, routing protocols, link aggregation, and access security. Monitor network performance, bandwidth utilization, and connectivity. Conduct root-cause analysis for LAN/WAN issues. Firewall & Security Administration Install, configure, and administer enterprise firewalls (Fortinet/Cisco/Palo Alto/Sophos etc.). Configure security rules, NAT, VPN tunnels (IPSec/SSL), web filtering, and threat protection. Monitor and analyze logs, alerts, and potential intrusions. Implement policies to maintain network and data security compliance. ________________________________________ Documentation & Reporting Maintain updated documentation of configurations, network topology, and asset inventory. Prepare incident, downtime, and performance reports. Maintain change logs as per ITIL standards. ________________________________________ Skills & Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT or relevant technical field. 3–5 years of experience in IT infrastructure management. Strong hands-on expertise in: Windows/Linux server administration Virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V/KVM) SAN/NAS storage environments Enterprise network switches Firewall configuration and security policies Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and backup solutions. Experience with network monitoring and log analysis tools. Certifications (preferred): CCNA/CCNP MCSA/MCSE Firewall certifications (Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE, etc.) Storage certifications (Dell/HP/NetApp) ________________________________________ Soft Skills Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
