Technical Artist Technical Artist INTRODUCTION: We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Technical Artist to join us. The Technical Artist will bridge the gap between art and programming, ensuring that assets and animations are properly integrated into our game engine and that performance and visual quality are optimized. You ll collaborate with artists, designers, and engineers to develop workflows, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement innovative solutions to keep the development process running smoothly. This is a highly collaborative role that requires strong problem-solving skills and a passion for both art and technology. KEY ROLES RESPONSIBILITIES Asset Optimization Integration: Optimize 2D assets for performance while maintaining quality, and implement in the game engine. Pipeline Development Maintenance: Develop and maintain efficient workflows for asset integration, import/export processes, and batch processes. Shader Effects Development: Create custom shaders and visual effects for 2D games, including lighting, particle systems, and post-processing. Performance Profiling Optimization: Monitor and optimize 2D asset performance (e.g., draw calls, memory, load times). Technical Problem Solving: Address art and animation integration challenges, debugging issues in asset imports, particles, and scene setups. Collaboration: Work closely with game designers, artists, and programmers to ensure that the visual elements of the game run smoothly on target platforms. Tool Development: Develop tools to streamline asset creation and improve efficiency across the team. Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for art and technical pipelines, including best practices, asset management, and tool usage. Research and Development: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new tools, and techniques, and apply them to the project as appropriate. QUALIFICATIONS 2+ years of experience as a Technical Artist, preferably in 2D game development. Experience with 2D game engines, such as Unity or Cocos2d. Strong knowledge of asset optimization techniques (e.g., sprite packing, texture atlases, efficient animation setups). Experience with 2D particles and shaders. Knowledge on Shader programming is an added advantage. Familiarity with 2D animation tools (e.g., Spine, DragonBones, or similar) and importing them into the game engine. Strong understanding of 2D art, animation, and visual storytelling and Ability to work on UI Animations. Proficiency in 2D art creation tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Spine). Ability to troubleshoot technical challenges and provide creative, practical solutions Strong communication skills to collaborate with both technical and artistic team members. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. Experience working on mobile or web-based 2D games. Develops generalized tools/techniques to help enhance the pipeline. Familiarity with performance profiling tools and techniques for 2D game optimization. Bombay Play is seeking a User Acquisition Manager/Performance Marketing Manager to oversee user acquisition campaigns across diverse marketing channels, regions, and platforms, aiming to achieve growth with a positive return on investment. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategically allocating Bombay Play s marketing budget to balance innovative experiments with established high-performing campaigns. They will analyse and enhance campaign performance through data-driven insights and quantitative analysis. Additionally, the manager will provide the creative team with quantitative feedback on the performance of creative assets across various quality metrics, with the objective of increasing the effectiveness of new creatives. The role also involves simplifying complex analyses by creating user-friendly reporting or visualisation dashboards (such as cohort ROAS, LTV, retention, spend, and volume). Collaboration with product leads will be essential to establish quarterly KPI goals necessary for sustained business growth. Furthermore, the manager must remain informed about and proactively address the latest data privacy regulations, platform policies, and best practices to ensure compliance and optimise marketing performance. KEY ROLES RESPONSIBILITIES Set up run paid marketing campaigns across the different ad networks, geographies and platforms. Manage the marketing tech stack to ensure correct tracking of conversion events, revenue and attribution. Work with a growth team of analysts and artists to own the paid marketing funnel end-to-end across Creative, Targeting, Budget Allocation, Spend Optimization, Data/Tracking. Optimise campaigns on an ongoing basis and run experiments to improve ROAS profitability. Document campaign evolution to monitor overall performance and identify best practices.
