As a Production Planning and Scheduling professional in the steel ingot and forging industry with 7-12 years of experience, your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain master production schedules for forging processes. This includes open die forging of Alloy Tool and Stainless Steel to ensure alignment with demand forecasts and inventory levels. You will be tasked with monitoring inventory levels, managing stock replenishment, and implementing strategies to minimize waste and optimize inventory turnover for raw materials, consumables, and finished goods. Collaborating with sales, operations, procurement, and other teams will be essential to optimize workflow and ensure timely delivery through interdepartmental coordination. Your role will involve analyzing production data to identify bottlenecks and develop strategies for optimizing capacity utilization and resource allocation. Process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement will be key focus areas, where you will implement best practices and lean methodologies. Quality control measures must be implemented and monitored to ensure that products meet standards. Additionally, analyzing production data, preparing performance reports, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and providing insights to management on production and inventory performance are crucial aspects of the role. You will also be required to address production issues, delays, and disruptions by implementing corrective actions and preventative measures. Collaborating with suppliers to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components, including building new supplier relationships as needed, will be part of your responsibilities.
