Role & responsibilities Take equipment and drug inventory on daily basis and maintain records accordingly. Maintain good interpersonal relationship with nurse administrators, senior staff, juniors and students. Attend In-service education programmes in order to update knowledge and keep abreast of changes and trends in health and nursing care. Keep principles of aseptic techniques in performing surgical scrub, setting instruments, gowning, gloving as needed for the procedure. Assist as a circulatory or scrub nurse. Report any untoward reactions of patient to the surgeon or anesthesiologist. Assess patients prior to surgery (e.g. NPO status) and alleviate their concerns Gather all supplies needed for the operation Assume responsibility of keeping the operating room sterilized Monitor patients vital signs to detect anomalies Evaluate patient in postoperative phases Adhere to safety standards and precautions Assume duties within or out of the sterile field as assigned Provide surgical patients with perioperative care in recovery, procedure, and operating rooms. Stock operating rooms with sterile surgical equipment, linens, and supplies. Develop and implement nursing care plans for surgical patients. Prepare patients for surgery by cleaning and disinfecting areas to be operated on. Assist surgeons during surgical procedures. Collaborate with surgical teams and other medical professionals on patient medication and post-surgery care. Preferred candidate profile
