Role Overview: The Electrical Safety Auditor will be responsible for conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments of electrical systems and installations to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, organizational safety policies, and industry standards. The role involves identifying hazards, recommending corrective measures, and promoting a culture of electrical safety in the workplace. Key Responsibilities: Conduct periodic electrical safety audits across plants, offices, and project sites. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and installations for compliance with CEA regulations, IS standards, and other applicable regulations. Identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and potential risks related to electrical safety. Review single line diagrams (SLD), load calculations, earthing systems, and protection systems for adequacy and safety. Verify compliance with statutory requirements such as earthing resistance, insulation testing, DG sets, transformers, circuit breakers, and emergency power systems. Prepare detailed audit reports, risk assessment findings, and corrective action plans. Provide recommendations for system improvements, preventive maintenance, and safety measures. Conduct training and awareness sessions on electrical safety practices, lockout-tagout (LOTO), and emergency response. Liaise with internal teams and external regulatory bodies during audits and inspections. Ensure proper documentation and follow-up of audit findings until closure. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of electrical safety regulations, codes, and standards (IEC, IS, NFPA, OSHA desirable). Expertise in electrical system design, maintenance, and safety controls. Ability to identify hazards and assess risks effectively. Good report writing, communication, and presentation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in using testing instruments (megger, earth tester, clamp meter, thermal imaging, etc.). Qualifications & Experience: Bachelors degree / Masters in Electrical Engineering. Certification in Electrical Safety, Safety Audit, or HSE (desirable: ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, Energy Auditor, NEBOSH Certification). Minimum 2–5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, safety, or audit functions. Prior experience in conducting statutory audits, risk assessments, and compliance inspections preferred. Other Requirements: Willingness to travel to multiple sites for audits. Strong commitment to promoting safety culture and compliance.
