Job Title: Western Dance Teacher Location: walkeshwar Position Type: part-Time Job Summary: We are looking for a passionate and skilled Western Dance Teacher to join our Middle School faculty. The ideal candidate will inspire students in grades 5 to 8 through structured dance instruction, choreograph performances, and integrate dance into broader educational and cultural events. Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging dance lessons in various western dance forms (e.g., Jazz, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Funk, etc.) Design a progressive curriculum aligned with the developmental needs of middle school students. Choreograph group and solo performances for annual day, inter-school competitions, assemblies, and special events. Foster creativity, teamwork, and discipline among students. Identify and nurture individual student talent and provide mentorship. Integrate music, storytelling, and visual arts where appropriate to enrich the dance experience. Collaborate with other faculty members for cross-disciplinary projects. Ensure student safety and create a respectful, inclusive learning environment. Maintain records of student participation, progress, and achievements. Attend staff meetings, school events, and professional development workshops as required. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts, Dance, or a related field. (Diploma in Dance from a recognized institute also considered.) Formal training in at least one western dance style; versatility in multiple forms is a plus. Minimum 2 years of teaching or professional performance experience (school teaching experience preferred). Strong communication and classroom management skills. Ability to connect with middle school students and foster a positive learning environment. Enthusiasm for working in a collaborative and creative school culture. Preferred Qualities: Passion for teaching and mentoring young learners. Innovative in designing lessons and choreography. Up-to-date with current trends in western dance and youth culture. Willingness to take initiative and contribute to the school's cultural and performing arts programs.
