Job Summary: We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Special Educator to work with children with developmental delays, learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other special needs. The role involves designing individualized education plans (IEPs), providing specialized instruction, and working collaboratively with therapists and families to help children reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities: Assessment & Individualized Learning Plans: Conduct assessments to identify learning challenges, cognitive skills, and developmental delays. Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each child’s strengths and needs. Modify teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Teaching & Intervention: Provide structured, engaging, and adaptive learning sessions for children with special needs. Use multi-sensory teaching methods, assistive technology, and behaviour management strategies. Focus on language development, cognitive skills, social skills, and life skills training. Behaviour & Social Development: Implement positive behaviour reinforcement strategies to address challenging behaviours. Encourage participation in group activities, play-based learning, and social interaction programs. Foster independence and self-confidence in children through structured learning experiences. Documentation & Compliance: Maintain detailed records of student progress, lesson plans, and therapy reports. Ensure compliance with educational guidelines and special education policies. Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and professional development programs. Qualifications & Skills: Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Special Education (B.Ed/M.Ed in Special Education) or equivalent. Certification: Certification in Autism Intervention, Learning Disabilities, or Early Childhood Special Education is a plus. Experience: Specify required experience, e.g., 1-3 years in special education or early intervention preferred. Skills Required: Strong understanding of inclusive education and child development. o Proficiency in using specialized teaching methods (ABA, TEACCH, PECS, etc.). Excellent communication, patience, and adaptability.
