The Assistant Manager - Sales is responsible for leading and guiding the sales team, which includes Tele Sales, Field Marketing, and Sales Coordinator executives. This role involves executing sales strategies as devised by the management, coordinating with Business Intelligence team on researching potential markets, and act on actionable customer data received to drive growth. The Assistant Manager will also act as the primary contact for major customers, ensure seamless customer support, and oversee the achievement of sales targets. Additionally, they will review team performance, align efforts with company objectives, and report key insights and sales metrics to the corporate office. Strong leadership, communication, and strategic execution skills are essential for success in this role. Key Responsibilities: 1. Lead and Guide Sales Team: Provide leadership and direction to the Tele Sales, Field Marketing, and Sales Coordinator executives. Support team members in achieving their individual sales targets through mentorship, coaching, and strategic guidance. Liaise with the Accounts team to update product pricing in line with current market trends and provide it to the sales team for effective communication with customers. 2. Market Research and Customer Data Provision: Coordinate/Help with Business Intelligence team to identify potential markets, new opportunities, and key customer segments for the branch. Provide the Tele Sales and Field Marketing teams with relevant data provided by the Business Intelligence team to drive targeted outreach and customer engagement. 3. Planning and Functional Review: Develop strategic sales plans aligning with the managements goal and review the performance of Tele Sales, Field Marketing, and Sales Coordinator teams on a regular basis. Ensure alignment of their efforts with overall sales objectives and provide necessary feedback for continuous improvement. 4. Major Customer Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for major customers of the branch, building and maintaining strong relationships to ensure long-term business partnerships. Address high-level customer concerns, negotiate contracts, and ensure customer satisfaction . 5. Sales Target Planning and Review: Set sales targets in coordination with the team and ensure that they are aligned with company objectives. Regularly review actual sales performance against targets, identify gaps, and provide corrective actions to meet goals. 6. Customer Support: Oversee customer support activities to ensure that clients receive timely responses and effective solutions to their queries and complaints. Collaborate with sales executives to ensure seamless post-sales service and support. 7. Reporting to Corporate Office: Prepare and submit regular reports on sales activities, targets, achievements, and market trends to the corporate office. Supplier Quotes Consolidation: Collect and consolidate quotes from various suppliers, ensuring that all quotes are compared based on price, quality, and delivery timelines. Present consolidated quotes to the purchasing manager or decision-makers for approval. 3. Price Negotiation: Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible pricing and terms while maintaining quality and timely delivery. Build long-term relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration and achieve favourable pricing agreements. 4. Purchase Order (PO) to Suppliers: Prepare and issue purchase orders (PO) to suppliers, ensuring that all required details, such as quantities, prices, delivery dates, and terms, are clearly stated. Ensure that POs are sent in a timely manner to avoid delays in the supply chain. 5. Follow-Ups with Suppliers: Maintain regular communication with suppliers to monitor the status of material deliveries and address any delays or issues. Follow up on open POs to ensure that materials are delivered on time and in the correct quantities. 6. Coordination with Dispatch Team: • Collaborate with the dispatch team to ensure timely and accurate deliveries of materials from suppliers. • Ensure that any changes in delivery schedules or material quantities are communicated to the dispatch team promptly well in advance. 7. Supplier Scorecard: • Maintain and update supplier scorecards to track and evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery times, and price. • Provide feedback to suppliers based on the scorecard results and work on improving performance metrics. • Identify potential areas for improvement in supplier performance and work with suppliers on development plans to address. 8. Alternate Supplier Development: • Participate in supplier development programs to ensure that suppliers meet the company expectations in terms of Quality and timeline. • Identify and develop alternate suppliers to mitigate risks associated with supplier dependencies and ensure uninterrupted material supply. • Evaluate new suppliers based on quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability, and integrate them into the procurement process as necessary. • Maintain relationships with multiple suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and safeguard against supply chain disruptions. 9. Monthly Reporting to Head Office and Inventory Control Manager: • Prepare and submit monthly reports on purchase activities, supplier performance, and material status to the head office and inventory control manager. • Include key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost savings, on-time delivery rates, and supplier evaluation in the reports.
