The company is building the world's first prediction markets for supply chains, allowing traders to hedge or speculate on real-world shipping flows, port congestion, and chokepoint disruptions. By leveraging data and technology, Ballast Markets aims to revolutionize how global trade is analyzed and predicted. Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Full Stack Engineer. The Full Stack Engineer will be responsible for developing both front-end and back-end components of our web applications. This includes tasks such as coding, debugging, deploying software, and improving user interfaces. The Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features while ensuring the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. Qualifications Proficiency in Back-End Web Development and Front-End Development Strong Software Development and Full-Stack Development skills Expertise in Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Experience with Agile development methodologies Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field Advanced React + TypeScript; state mgmt (Redux/Zustand), hooks, accessibility. Real-time UI patterns (WebSockets/EventSource), virtualized lists, perf profiling. Next.js/SSR, routing, caching, edge rendering. Strong testing (Vitest/Jest, Playwright/Cypress), CI/CD. AuthN/Z (OAuth/OIDC/JWT), session security, rate-limiting. Design systems (Tailwind, tokens), component libraries.
