Job Description

Responsible for the L2 level support of backup software VERITAS backupex, Veeam, Arcserve, and Commvault platforms.
Works in a large mixed environment of both Windows and Linux servers.
Ability to manage multiple tape libraries of backup infrastructure.
Understands and has excellent knowledge and skills to troubleshoot backup software issues, tape issues, and storage issues.
Needs to be proficient in policies and schedules, have the ability to create policies, and work with defined schedules is a must.
Must thoroughly understand backup software through the command line and through the GUI.
Must understand Linux and Windows commands, and understand how to troubleshoot backup issues on both Windows servers and Linux servers.
Must follow established company processes, including change management, incident management, and problem management processes.
Experience in Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems, shell or PowerShell scripting, and developing operational reports.
Escalate backup issues when necessary including opening support cases with OEM.
Understanding of patching and up-gradation of backup software.
