Backend Developer

As a highly skilled Backend Developer, you will join our Maps team to design, develop, and maintain systems that manage and process large-scale Maps data. Your expertise in backend development, data processing, and cloud-based solutions will be crucial for this role. Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain robust backend systems using Java (11 or above) and Spring Boot. - Design and implement data processing pipelines for Maps data using Scala and Spark. - Work with graph data structures to build algorithms and processes for geospatial mapping. - Optimise the performance of Java-based applications through profiling and tuning techniques. - Manage workflows for data processing and orchestration using Airflow. - Develop and optimize database interactions with Postgres, ensuring data integrity and performance. - Leverage AWS services to build scalable and secure cloud-based solutions. - Explore and implement reactive programming principles with Spring WebFlux (good to have). - Collaborate on frontend integration using Next.js for data visualisation (good to have). - Ensure high-quality deliverables through robust testing and code reviews. Requirements: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. - Proficiency in Java (11 or above) with experience in profiling and performance optimisation. - Hands-on experience with Scala and Spark for data processing and computation. - Strong knowledge of Spring Boot; familiarity with Spring WebFlux is a plus. - Solid understanding of graph data structures and algorithms. - Proficient in working with Postgres databases, including query optimisation. - Experience with Airflow for orchestration and automation of workflows. - Hands-on experience with AWS services. - Familiarity with Next.js for frontend integration (Good to Have). - Experience with reactive programming principles (Good to Have).
