About the Role The Business Development Lead is responsible for driving new business growth in Part Truck Load. This role requires a blend of business acumen, salesmanship, and logistics industry knowledge. Responsibilities: Identify and target potential new clients within the designated market or territory. Develop and execute a business development strategy to generate qualified leads. Conduct market research to understand current industry trends and competitor offerings. Build relationships with potential clients by attending industry events, cold calling, and networking. Understand client needs and challenges to develop customized logistics solutions. Collaborate with internal teams (operations, Accounts, BD) to create compelling proposals. Negotiate contracts and pricing to secure new business deals. Track and manage the sales pipeline, forecasting sales and reporting on progress. Maintain and update a database of current and prospective clients. Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and new technologies in logistics. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred). Minimum 2+ years of experience in business development, PTL/LTL sales, or a logistics-related role. Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and generating new business. Strong understanding of PTL and the logistics industry. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to build rapport and trust with clients. Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently. Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite."
