Together, let's sail towards a brighter, more sustainable future with Maersk. Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager and Marine 4-Stroke Engine Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with marine 4-stroke engines. In this dual-capacity role, you will be responsible for providing expert technical advice to our vessel engineers, meticulously troubleshooting complex engine issues, and offering critical second-level support to our vessel managers. Additionally, you will lead and manage various machinery retrofit projects, contributing to performance enhancements and compliance initiatives across our fleet. This dynamic position requires flexibility for global travel to ships or yards for project involvement. Key Responsibilities: Technical Advisory & Support: Provide expert technical advice and hands-on support to our global fleet on all marine 4-stroke auxiliary engine issues. Troubleshooting & Resolution: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and effectively resolve complex technical problems related to marine 4-stroke engines, ensuring minimal downtime. Second-Level Support: Serve as a key advisor to vessel managers and engineers, offering second-level technical support and guiding them towards optimal solutions. Project Management: Lead, handle, and oversee machinery retrofit projects, ensuring timely, efficient, and cost-effective completion. Projects will range from vessel retrofits to implementing performance-enhancing ideas and incorporating new technologies and compliance-related upgrades. Manage various projects related to both machinery and hull, including the integration of new technologies and compliance-driven retrofits. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other departments (e.g., procurement, operations, design) to ensure seamless integration of technical solutions and project outcomes. Technical Advancement: Stay continuously updated with the latest advancements in marine engine technology, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to improve fleet performance and compliance. Global Travel: Be prepared for periods of short global travel to join ships or visit shipyards for projects you are involved in, subject to normal visa requirements for specific countries. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in marine engineering or a related field. Core Experience: Proven and extensive experience with marine 4-stroke auxiliary engines . Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills, with a track record of resolving complex technical issues. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences. Project & Pressure Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Retrofit Familiarity: Familiarity with machinery retrofit processes and procedures. Preferred Skills: Proven experience in advising and supporting vessel managers and engineers. In-depth knowledge of the latest marine engine technologies and industry trends. Demonstrable project management experience in a marine or heavy machinery environment.
