Automation Software Engineer

As an Automation Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing robust automation frameworks and tools using your strong Python expertise and deep understanding of software engineering principles. This is not a traditional QA role but rather a position that focuses on engineering solutions to replace manual testing workflows with automation, leveraging advanced Python capabilities and test automation best practices. Your responsibilities will include developing, enhancing, and maintaining test automation frameworks for complex systems, with a particular emphasis on leveraging pytest to create modular, reusable, and scalable automated test solutions. You will also automate end-to-end testing of APIs, databases, and system integrations, utilizing pytest fixtures and hooks effectively. Additionally, you will implement advanced Python automation techniques, collaborate with development and product teams, utilize pytest parametrization to enhance test coverage, work with CI/CD pipelines, troubleshoot and debug automation frameworks, and continuously improve test strategies and workflows. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with at least 5 years of hands-on software development experience with a strong emphasis on Python. Proficiency in pytest, deep understanding of Python's advanced features, experience with REST API testing, JSON schema validation, and HTTP protocols, as well as familiarity with RDBMS concepts and version control systems are required. Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, Agile development environment, and experience with CI/CD tools are also essential. Preferred skills for this role include experience with Python concurrency, familiarity with cloud platforms and related tools, and experience working with containerized environments and testing distributed systems effectively.
