Purpose of the role The Business Analyst provides accurate and timely analysis to improve operational performance across AMA service streams. The role builds reliable data pipelines, dashboards and reporting mechanisms, defines and maintains core metrics, and delivers insights that support resourcing, planning and quality decisions. Responsibilities and duties ● Define operational KPIs and metric dictionaries that are understood and applied consistently by teams. ● Build weekly and monthly dashboards in Google Sheets and Looker Studio with clear variance commentary. ● Design simple data capture templates and reconcile source inputs to ensure accuracy. ● Analyse throughput, turnaround times, queue ageing, rework, utilisation and quality exceptions, and recommend next steps with clear owners and timelines. ● Prepare workload forecasts and capacity views to support planning, rostering and hiring. ● Track initiatives from baseline to outcome and provide progress updates against targets. ● Work with stream managers to align definitions, handoff points and data responsibilities. ● Maintain documentation for sources, access controls, refresh cadence and versioning. ● Prepare short guides and run brief training so teams can self-serve dashboards. ● Complete other analysis, reporting and process improvement tasks that support AMA's operational goals. Key deliverables ● A maintained KPI pack with weekly and monthly dashboards approved by the Managing Partner. ● Clear insights that identify bottlenecks and specify actions, owners and dates. ● Forecast and capacity reports updated at the agreed cadence. ● Standardised templates and usage notes adopted across teams. ● Executive summaries delivered on time with required decisions highlighted. Compliance and confidentiality All work must be completed using approved AMA systems. All all internal data must be handled confidentially and accessed only for authorised business purposes. Any content requiring internal oversight is released only after review and approval under applicable firm protocols. Key relationships ● Migration agents and case management assistants ● Staff across partner, associate and casework teams Essential skills ● Strong analytical problem solving with the ability to translate data into clear operational actions. ● Proficiency with Google Sheets and Looker Studio including formulas, pivots, validation and charting. ● Structured documentation and version control. ● Clear written communication and concise presentation of findings. ● High attention to detail and reliability under time constraints. Qualifications and experience ● Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, Business or a related field. ● One to five years of experience in business analysis, operations analytics or reporting in a services environment.
