The Cameraperson plays a crucial role in capturing high-quality footage for various purposes such as news, events, advertisements, and other video productions. As a skilled Cameraperson, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining professional video cameras, lenses, tripods, and related equipment. Your technical expertise in handling cameras, along with a creative eye for framing shots, will be essential in delivering visually appealing content. Collaboration with directors, producers, and editors to achieve the desired visual style is a key aspect of this role. Additionally, setting up and adjusting lighting, camera angles, and audio equipment as required will be part of your responsibilities. Smooth camera movements using stabilizers, dollies, or handheld techniques are essential skills for this position. Editing and reviewing raw footage when necessary and following industry best practices and safety guidelines while shooting are also vital components of the job. The ideal candidate for this role should have proven experience as a Cameraperson or in a similar role. A strong understanding of camera operations, lighting, and audio setups is crucial for success in this position. Proficiency in using DSLR, mirrorless, and professional video cameras is required. The ability to work under tight deadlines and in fast-paced environments is essential. While a degree or diploma in Film Production, Media Studies, or a related field is preferred, it is not mandatory.
