Position: Manager Design - Vessels Total Experience: 15-20 years of relevant experience Education: Masters or Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering (M.E. / M.Tech. or B.E. / B.Tech) Location: Ahmedabad Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: - Understanding and internalizing project requirements related to Pressure vessels, atmospheric tanks, ladders, platforms, and equipment associated with ZLD such as Flash tank, Heat Exchangers, FFE, etc. - Providing insights to the Lead Mechanical engineer regarding design schedules. - Performing calculations concerning vessels & tanks, encompassing specific vessel functionality (resin expansion, internals sizing, etc.) and vessel code calculations (ASME sect VIII Div.1 / 2 vessel strength calculations, nozzle calculations, etc.). - Analyzing wind, seismic forces, and allowable nozzle loads on vessels and tanks. - Conducting preliminary assessments of vessels for fatigue loading in compliance with project specifications. Coordinating with external agencies for detailed FEA if necessary, providing system-related inputs. - Ensuring design outputs meet project requirements and code standards by reviewing designer outputs. - Adhering to OSHA requirements when designing platforms & ladders. - Verifying material selections for compatibility with specific requirements. - Participating in coordination & review meetings to incorporate project-specific requirements in designs, such as finalizing nozzle orientations in consultation with the piping group. - Resolving vendor queries related to vessels, tanks, and platforms in collaboration with Lead Mechanical Engineers. - Attending customer meetings on aspects concerning vessels, tanks, and platforms as needed. - Generating requisitions and uploading materials in SAP systems. - Reviewing vendor quotes pertaining to vessels, tanks, and platforms to ensure technical requirements are satisfied. - Creating datasheets / specifications as necessary for the mentioned areas. - Engaging in team management duties.
