Associate Engineer-Wastewater Modelling

As a Wastewater Modeller at Jacobs, your role is crucial in supporting our wastewater network projects to meet our growing business needs and future development aspirations. Your primary responsibilities will include collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects within agreed timeframes and budgets while exceeding our clients" expectations. You will be involved in various projects, including model build and verification, understanding system performance using existing or new models, designing system improvements and enhancements to the Wastewater Network, and ensuring technical excellence and best practices are met. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing engineered solutions to mitigate the effects of development, solve sewer flooding issues, and address unsatisfactory overflows. You will provide technical guidance and support to junior modelling staff, plan and review asset and flow surveys, coordinate field investigations, and prepare reports for specific projects. Ensuring health and safety standards are upheld throughout project execution is essential, along with effective communication and collaboration with colleagues, engineers, subcontractors, and clients. Your role will also involve preparing cost estimates for modelling, project design, and construction, as well as supporting management and Project Managers to ensure the successful delivery of technically sound solutions. Our hybrid working policy empowers employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations to facilitate optimal work performance. To excel in this role, you should possess a minimum of a Civil Engineering Degree or a relevant equivalent, along with 3-6 years of experience in wastewater modelling. Proficiency in using GIS tools such as MapInfo and ArcGIS is essential, as well as a proven track record in the water industry, focusing on wastewater network solutions. Demonstrable experience with wastewater modelling software like InfoNet, InfoWorks CS/ICM, and the ability to provide technical guidance to modelling staff are key requirements. Your expertise in designing wastewater schemes, sewage pumping systems, and treatment facilities will be highly valued in this role.,
