Associate Engineer (Modeling & Detailing)

Role Overview: You will be a valuable member of the DCR Components - Castings CoE team in EDCI at Caterpillar Inc. Your primary responsibility will involve modelling and detailing Casting and Forging components for Transmission, Lower powertrain, Engine, and other casting components. This includes selecting components from the existing database that require modification or remodeling. You should have thorough Pro-E experience, general Engineering knowledge, knowledge on Transmission & engine systems, related manufacturing processes, and the ability to work with agency engineers to coordinate projects effectively. Key Responsibilities: - Modelling and detailing of complex castings using surface modelling techniques for Transmission, Lower powertrain, Engine components like cases, covers, manifolds, Planet Carriers, Torque converter housings, heads & blocks, Crankshaft, Camshaft, flywheel & housing, timing case, wheel, axle housing - Creation of casting concepts for castability - Hands-on experience on surface texture requirements, heat treatment, and inspection processes of components like Gears and Shafts - Knowledge on Speed charts, Dimension, and Installation drawings Qualifications Required: - Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and Proficiency in Pro-E product family - 5 to 10 years of relevant experience - Hands-on experience on Cat Engineering tools like HVC, EDS, TC Engineering, Windchill & knowledge on Cat standards - Good understanding of Transmission & Engine systems and components - Initiative, Accountability, Interpersonal, Organizational & Communication skills - Pro/Engineer experience with a background in casting and forging design, Modelling and Detailing (Desirable) - Proficiency in GD&T and Knowledge on Tolerance Stack up (ASME Y14.5) (Desirable) - Any casting foundry experience will be an added advantage (Desirable) Would you like to apply for this exciting engineering opportunity at Caterpillar Inc. ,
