Assistant Professor - SoPA - Vocal (Indian Classical Music)

As an Assistant Professor, you are expected to have a good academic record with at least 60% marks at the Master's degree level in the relevant subject or an equivalent degree from an Indian University. Additionally, you should possess a Ph.D. Degree in Music from a reputed University in India. In order to be eligible for this position, it is required that you have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) for lecturers conducted by the UGC, CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET. Alternatively, candidates who are awarded a Ph.D degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission guidelines are also eligible. Exceptions are provided for subjects in which the NET Exam is not conducted. Furthermore, you should have undergone certified training under a Guru for a minimum of 5-8 years and have a good amount of experience in stage performances. Alternatively, if you are a traditional and professional artist with significant achievements in the concerned subject and hold a Master's degree, you should meet the following criteria: - Studied under noted/reputed traditional Master(s)/Artist(s) - "A" Grade artist of AIR / Doordarshan - Experience in designing new courses and/or curriculum - Participation in Seminars/Conferences in reputed institutions - Ability to explain the logical reasoning of the subject concerned and possess adequate knowledge to teach theory with illustrations in that discipline.
