Assistant Professor – M.Sc Nursing (Medical-Surgical Nursing)

Job Summary

The Assistant Professor (MSN) will handle classroom and clinical teaching in Medical-Surgical Nursing, supervise student clinical rotations, guide research, and ensure academic compliance with INC/TNNMC standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach MSN subjects for B.Sc, PB-B.Sc, and M.Sc Nursing programs.
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, assessments, and evaluation tools.
• Supervise students in Medical, Surgical, ICU, Emergency, OT, and Specialty Units.
• Demonstrate and guide essential procedures: assessment, nursing care plans, IV therapy, wound care, critical care skills, etc.
• Maintain clinical evaluation records, competency checklists, and attendance.
• Guide UG/PG research projects and support departmental academic activities.
• Assist HOD with departmental documentation, accreditation files, and committee work.
• Provide academic mentoring and support student performance improvement.

Qualifications

• M.Sc Nursing (Medical-Surgical Nursing) – Mandatory
• Valid TNNMC Registration
• Minimum 3 years teaching/clinical experience (preferred)

Skills Required

• Strong subject expertise in MSN
• Effective teaching and clinical demonstration skills
• Good documentation and academic planning abilities
• Ability to handle ICU/ward supervision confidently
• Strong communication and student management skills

Salary

₹25,000 – ₹35,000 per month (based on experience)
