Role Overview: You are being sought after to join as an Assistant Professor in Data Science / Statistics at the University of Bristol's Mumbai Enterprise Campus (MEC). Key Responsibilities: - Leadership, Culture, and Engagement - Participate in faculty committees, academic events, student recruitment, and quality assurance processes. - Contribute to institutional development and training initiatives. - Establish industry and academic partnerships to increase the university's visibility and engagement. - Collaborate with Professional Services partners for administrative and governance duties. - Teaching - Design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in mathematical statistics, machine learning, coding, and algorithmics. - Assist in curriculum development and academic programme design. - Implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance student experience and employability. - Contribute to curriculum development, accreditation, and quality assurance standards. - Research - Supervise student research projects and provide academic guidance. - Publish high-quality research in academic journals, contributing to the field of Data Science / Statistics. - Seek research funding and build interdisciplinary collaborations. Qualification Required: - Essential Criteria - PhD in mathematical statistics and data science. - Ability to teach effectively at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. - Track record of scholarly research and potential for publishing in reputable journals. - Organisational and administrative skills. - Strong communication, leadership, and collaborative skills. - Programming expertise and experience in machine learning and data science. - Desirable Criteria - 2 to 10 years of academic experience post-PhD. - Experience in teaching and research in higher education. - Proficiency in mentoring, academic advising, and supervision.
