Assistant Engineer - Drainage

As an Assistant Engineer at WSP, your primary focus will be on supporting a variety of highways schemes related to highway drainage elements. You will be actively involved in the design process, collaborating with the lead design engineer or work package manager to develop design solutions in compliance with relevant standards. Your responsibilities will include technical checking, design reviews, and ensuring adherence to Health and Safety policies and procedures. To excel in this role, you should possess a good understanding of UK highway drainage, including knowledge of SUDS features. Proficiency in HADDMS and standard MS Office software is essential. Basic knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroDrainage (or similar software) would be advantageous. Additionally, you should have strong communication skills, the ability to seek clarification when needed, and a willingness to continually improve your skills. Ideally, you should hold a B.Tech. in Civil Engineering or equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Highway drainage and Storm water drainage. An M.Tech in Hydraulics & Water Resources Engineering or equivalent would be preferred. Familiarity with DMRB codes and experience with CAD and Civil 3D software are desirable.
