Asset and Configuration Coordinator - L2

The Configuration Coordinator at Wipro Limited is responsible for managing and maintaining the Configuration Management System and the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). Working closely with the Configuration Management Process Manager, the coordinator ensures the integrity of the CMDB and associated libraries. The role of Configuration Coordinator encompasses various responsibilities that combine those of a coordinator and a configuration manager. This includes maintaining information about Configuration Items required for delivering IT services, managing a logical model of IT infrastructure components and their associations, accurately registering all CIs, interfacing with support organizations for effective CMDB utilization, recommending improvements for CMDB integrity, creating reports as requested, ensuring CI Owners adhere to Configuration Management disciplines, following authorized procedures, owning the SACM process end-to-end, controlling changes to CIs and CMS, defining naming conventions, owning the CMS, managing software and hardware CIs, liaising with procurement for asset control, defining asset disposal policy, collaborating with change and release teams, conducting audits, defining audit policies, handling audit discrepancies, maintaining CI storage areas, and safeguarding CMDB integrity. The Configuration Librarian within this role is specifically responsible for supervising CI receipt, storage, and withdrawal, supporting CMDB and libraries, identifying products and CIs, providing CI status information, recording Configuration Management issues, archiving configurations, maintaining master copies, notifying holders of changes, and assisting in audits. Key skills and competencies required for this role include good analytic and decision-making skills, effective communication and presentation skills, conflict resolution abilities, technical background in IT technologies, hardware and software management and troubleshooting skills, experience in Configuration Management tools, ability to create a CMDB repository, familiarity with software development lifecycle, multi-site work experience, and proficiency in SCM tools and build automation software. Mandatory skills include ITIL - IT Hardware Asset Management with 1-3 years of experience.
