Job Description Role: Business Development & Partnerships Lead Location: Chennai (Work from Office / Hybrid) Organization: Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST) About ASSIST The Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST) is an international non-profit organization committed to promoting sustainable practices and addressing social challenges in Asia. Guided by our “Partnership for Progress” philosophy, we co-create solutions with corporates, foundations, philanthropists, and multilateral agencies in areas such as health, education, skills, climate action, disaster resilience, and sustainable livelihoods. Role Overview We are looking for a dynamic professional with 3–5 years of experience in business development, CSR engagement, and partnership building . The individual will be responsible for outreach to corporates and donors , securing meetings, and presenting ASSIST’s flagship programs and solutions. The role spans CSR collaborations, corporate volunteering, product donations, and adoption of ASSIST’s proprietary products (such as Masters of Disaster) . The candidate will serve as a relationship-builder and deal-closer , co-designing projects with partners or securing their support for ASSIST’s existing initiatives. Key Responsibilities 1. Corporate & Donor Outreach Proactively reach out to corporates, foundations, and donor institutions to introduce ASSIST. Secure meetings with decision-makers and create excitement around ASSIST’s flagship programs and solutions. 2. CSR Engagement & Project Development Engage with companies on CSR funding opportunities, project adoption, and co-designed initiatives. Position ASSIST as a trusted partner to implement high-impact projects aligned with CSR and ESG priorities. 3. Corporate Volunteering & Product Donations Design and promote structured volunteering opportunities for corporate employees. Develop partnerships for in-kind and product donations to support ASSIST projects and beneficiaries. 4. ASSIST Products & Flagship Solutions Promote ASSIST’s proprietary products (e.g., Masters of Disaster learning kit) to corporates and institutions. Identify opportunities for bulk adoption or integration of ASSIST-developed solutions into CSR programs. 5. Relationship Management & Networking Build and sustain long-term relationships with corporate CSR leaders, industry associations, and donor networks. Represent ASSIST at CSR, ESG, and sustainability forums, conferences, and networking events. 6. Pipeline & Internal Coordination Manage a structured pipeline of leads, proposals, and follow-ups through CRM tools. Work closely with internal teams (Research & Acquisition, Key Accounts, Program Delivery) to align outreach with ASSIST’s offerings and ensure smooth handovers. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business Management, or related fields. 3–5 years of experience in Sales, Business Development, CSR fundraising, Partnerships, or Grant Management. Prior experience in engaging with CSR leaders, foundations, or international agencies (IFC, ADB, GIZ, UNICEF, USAID, etc.) is an advantage . Sector knowledge in Healthcare, Sustainable Development, Energy, WASH, Education, or Climate/Environment is an advantage (not compulsory). Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong presentation and storytelling ability to excite prospects. Proven networking, relationship management, and deal-closing skills. Ability to thrive under pressure, juggle multiple prospects, and deliver results to tight deadlines.
