Responsibilities

  • Curriculum and Lesson Planning:

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and art projects.
  • Teach a variety of techniques, including drawing, painting, sketching, and sculpting.
  • Incorporate art history and diverse art forms into lessons.
  • Instruction and Student Development:

  • Provide individual and group instruction to foster artistic skills.
  • Encourage creativity, self-expression, and a love for art.
  • Identify and nurture artistic talent among students.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Classroom and Resource Management:

  • Maintain an inventory of art supplies and materials, and ensure they are properly stored and restocked.
  • Organize and prepare the classroom environment.
  • Ensure classroom safety and cleanliness.
  • Administrative and Collaborative Duties:

  • Plan and coordinate art exhibitions and displays.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and school staff on interdisciplinary projects and events.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and parent-teacher meetings as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
  • A diploma in art, drawing, or painting may also be acceptable.
  • Proven experience in teaching art to various age groups.

  • Skills and Attributes:

  • Proficiency in a variety of art techniques and materials.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Creative, patient, and adaptable to different learning styles.
  • Ability to manage a classroom or group setting effectively.
