Content Project Manager (Typesetting & Proofreading) Argument-Driven Inquiry (ADI) is a STEM education company dedicated to helping teachers learn how to teach science, math, and engineering in new, more engaging, and effective ways. We are seeking a Content Project Manager to oversee the Typesetting and Proofreading Team responsible for producing our print and digital curriculum materials. This role ensures that all content is delivered accurately, on time, and in alignment with ADI’s style and quality standards. The ideal candidate will be an organized, detail-oriented professional with experience managing production workflows, coordinating across teams, and maintaining high editorial and design standards. ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership Lead and support the Typesetting and Proofreading Team, ensuring clear communication and consistent quality across all deliverables. Set clear expectations, production goals, and deadlines aligned with the ADI publication schedule. Foster a collaborative, solutions-focused environment that encourages accountability and continuous improvement. Project Coordination Oversee the full production process from manuscript delivery through print-ready approval. Collaborate with authors, editors, and the content development team to ensure seamless transitions between writing, editing, typesetting, and proofing stages. Track progress for multiple books simultaneously, maintaining visibility on all deadlines and deliverables. Quality Assurance Implement quality control checks at each stage of production to ensure consistency with the ADI Style Guide and technical specifications. Review proofs and layouts for accuracy, clarity, and design compliance prior to final approval. Work with team members to address and resolve formatting or language issues efficiently. Timeline and Workflow Management Develop and manage detailed production timelines, ensuring all books and materials move smoothly through the workflow. Anticipate potential bottlenecks and proactively implement solutions to keep projects on schedule. Communicate regularly with the Project Manager and leadership team regarding progress, risks, and resource needs. Resource and Process Optimization Manage assignments and resource allocation for typesetters and proofreaders to ensure balanced workloads and timely completion. Refine production workflows, templates, and file management systems to increase efficiency and accuracy across projects. Maintain organized project records, schedules, and feedback archives. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Publishing, Communications, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience managing content production or editorial workflows, preferably in educational publishing. Strong understanding of print and digital layout production, copyediting, and proofreading processes. Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. High attention to detail and commitment to quality. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide a small creative and technical team. Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, or Smartsheet) and document collaboration platforms. Current projects include the Tall Tale Science Series , which reimagines classic American legends like Annie Oakley, Molly Pitcher, James Bowie, and Annie Christmas — blending folklore and real science concepts aligned to 3rd–5th grade science standards (e.g., circuits, weathering, conductors, tides). Future projects include both fiction and nonfiction books featuring themes of discovery, creativity, and STEM learning for young readers. We’re seeking talented illustrators who can bring stories to life through expressive characters, dynamic compositions, and educational visuals that engage children and teachers alike. This is a contract position with the potential to become a long-term role for the right candidate. You will organize product information, images, and descriptions into well-structured catalog pages that match our online store’s categories. Accuracy, consistency, and attention to layout detail are essential. Key Responsibilities Use an existing InDesign template to create catalog pages. Pull product details, descriptions, and images from our Shopify store (shop.argumentdriveninquiry.com). Organize pages by category (Books, Kits, Classroom Supplies, etc.). Format and align product titles, SKUs, and pricing consistently. Ensure image quality, cropping, and alignment are correct. Export print-ready (CMYK, 300 dpi) and web-optimized PDFs. Deliver organized source files (InDesign package). Work closely with our internal team to review proofs and make revisions.
