Role Overview

The Application Architect will define and own the end-to-end technical architecture for the RTRA data platform. This includes designing scalable ingestion, transformation, and analytics frameworks built on Databricks and Azure. The architect ensures data integrity, performance, and compliance across global deployments while driving engineering excellence in design and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect enterprise-grade data ingestion and transformation pipelines on Databricks, leveraging PySpark, Delta Lake, and Azure Data Factory.
• Define scalable data models supporting analytics, forecasting, and portfolio visibility across business functions.
• Establish reusable data components, metadata management, and data lineage frameworks.
• Implement data governance controls, quality validation checkpoints, and security standards for all data assets.
• Oversee CI/CD processes for data pipelines and support DevOps integration with version control and testing frameworks.
• Partner with business and data analysts to translate high-level outcomes into engineered data models.
• Mentor engineers on architectural best practices, data performance optimization, and modular design patterns.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years experience in data architecture, engineering, or platform solution design.
• Expert-level proficiency in Databricks, PySpark, SQL, and Azure Data Factory.
• Proven experience integrating complex data ecosystems including SAP, Salesforce, JIRA, and other enterprise systems.
• Deep knowledge of data governance, lineage, and performance optimization practices.
• Strong understanding of modern CI/CD pipelines and test automation for data delivery.
• Excellent documentation and architectural communication skills for cross-functional teams.
