We are looking for an experienced and strategic Head of Human Resources to lead the HR function at our Hyderabad-based Global Capability Center (GCC) . This center delivers critical support services across global functions including IT, Finance, Human Resources, Procurement, Supply Chain. As the senior HR leader on site, you will be responsible for defining and executing a people strategy that supports global objectives while cultivating a high-performing and engaged local workforce. What you will do Design and setup phase Lead the initial design and setup of the HR function for the Hyderabad GCC, working closely with global and local stakeholders, defining and executing a comprehensive recruitment and onboarding strategy to attract, hire, and integrate top talent across support functions. Lay the foundation for long-term HR operations and culture by designing an HR operating model that aligns with both global HR strategy and local workforce dynamics. Build strong partnerships with internal teams and negotiate effective agreements with external service providers and vendors (e.g., recruitment agencies, payroll providers, benefits administrators). Operations & Expansion Strategic HR Leadership Serve as the HR business partner to the GCC leadership team, providing counsel on workforce strategy and people matters. Develop and execute an HR strategy aligned with both global goals and the growth trajectory of the Hyderabad GCC. Design and implement targeted retention strategies to engage and retain top talent within critical support functions. Build a robust succession planning framework to ensure leadership continuity and strengthen the internal talent pipeline. Talent Management & Organizational Development Lead workforce planning and drive end-to-end talent acquisition efforts to attract high-quality candidates for enabling functions. Implement robust onboarding, development, and succession planning frameworks tailored to GCC talent needs. Build and sustain a culture of learning, performance, and continuous development across functions. Employee Experience & Engagement Design initiatives that enhance employee experience and position the Hyderabad GCC as a preferred employer in the region. Drive employee engagement, recognition, and internal communication programs that align with the organization's values. HR Operations & Compliance Ensure smooth execution of HR operations, including payroll, benefits, employee relations, and HRIS, in partnership with shared services. Oversee adherence to local employment laws, labor regulations, and internal governance standards. Manage HR budgets, metrics, and vendor relationships to support operational efficiency. Culture & Change Management Align local HR practices with global processes, systems, and values while preserving regional relevance. Support leadership capability building and team effectiveness through coaching, training, and facilitation. What you will bring Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a senior HR leadership role. Strong background in managing HR for a Global Capability Center (GCC), Shared Services, or Global Business Services (GBS) organization. Demonstrated success in scaling HR operations in a mid-sized or fast-growing setup. Sound knowledge of Indian labor laws, particularly as they pertain to operations in Hyderabad. Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree is preferred. Key Competencies Strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into action. We are seeking a visionary and execution-focused leader to establish and lead Aperam’s Global Capability Center (GCC) in Hyderabad, India. This new Aperam office will play a pivotal role within the Aperam group, supporting global operations, and impulsing innovation through process excellence, driving digital transformation, and strengthening Aperam’s competitive advantage. The Head of GCC will be responsible for the end-to-end setup of the center, including location development, team building, operational integration , and long-term strategic evolution of the center as a key business enabler. What you will do Design and setup phase: Strategic Planning & Vision: Actively participate in the definition of the vision, mission, and long-term objectives of the GCC in alignment with global business strategy. Infrastructure & Compliance: Lead site selection and setup in partnership with local consultants and global real estate teams. Ensure compliance with Indian laws and regulatory frameworks (labor, tax, SEZ/STPI as applicable). Talent Acquisition & Culture Building: Build a high-performing local leadership team. Develop a people strategy aligned with company culture and global talent frameworks. Program Management: Join the existing Program Management team, engaged in designing the GCC strategy and implementation plan Co-pilot the setup of the Indian Global Capability Center (GCC) with our external partner, ensuring seamless collaboration and knowledge transfer between Europe and India; Establish governance models and operating procedures with HQ and business stakeholders. Operations & Expansion Operational Leadership: Own the P&L and day-to-day performance of the GCC. Drive service delivery excellence, productivity, and continuous improvement across functions. Stakeholder Management: Act as the bridge between India operations and global stakeholders. Actively orchestrate change management initiatives to promote the GCC towards global stakeholders of Aperam Innovation & Capability Building: Foster a culture of innovation, automation, and digital enablement. Scale advanced capabilities (e.g., AI/ML, RPA, data science) to enhance global operations. Talent Development: Drive talent development, succession planning, and retention strategies. Create a learning organization with strong career growth pathways. What you will bring 5-10 years of leadership role within a GCC or Global Business Services structure with multicultural exposure Academics - B.E./B.Tech/MBA/CA from a reputed Institute; Entrepreneurial mindset, passionate about innovation and people Excellent change management skills and experience in leading transformation initiatives.
