We’re Hiring: GIS Developer Location: Visakhapatnam, India Employment Type: Full-Time Experience Level: (1-2 years) About the Role We are seeking a talented GIS Developer to join our team at Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL) ( through Allvy Software Solutions ) and support the development of modern geospatial applications, tools, and services. You will work on creating robust GIS solutions using Java, Spring Boot, web technologies, and spatial databases, helping our organization leverage location intelligence for smarter decision-making. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain GIS-based web applications , interactive maps, and web services. Build and integrate RESTful APIs , microservices, and server-side components using Java and Spring Boot . Develop front-end components using HTML, CSS, JavaScript , and ArcGIS JavaScript API . Work with spatial databases such as Oracle Spatial, PostGIS or MongoDB for geospatial data storage and querying. Integrate maps and geospatial functionality using libraries like Leaflet, Mapbox, or OpenLayers . Customize and integrate with Esri ArcGIS products (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online). Collaborate with cross-functional teams including GIS Analysts, IT, and engineers to deliver scalable GIS solutions. Maintain version control and code quality using SVN & Git . Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Computer Science , or a related field. 2+ years of professional experience as a GIS Developer. Strong programming skills in Java , including knowledge of data structures and design patterns. Hands-on experience with ArcGIS JavaScript API . Experience with relational and spatial databases ( Oracle Spatial, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, MySQL ). Proficiency in GIS tools: ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Online, QGIS , etc. Experience building responsive and interactive web applications. Preferred Skills Esri Technical Certification or GISP . Experience with ArcGIS JavaScript API . Experience with enterprise GIS deployments and cloud environments.
