Apache Impala Developer at BairesDev

We are seeking an Apache Impala Developer with expertise in SQL query engines, columnar storage optimization, and distributed query processing for analytical workloads. The technology stack includes popular open source query engines - Apache Hive, Impala, Trino, and table formats like Apache Iceberg. Thus, there is ample scope for collaboration and contribution to open source. The ideal candidate will develop and optimize high-performance analytical systems, contribute to open source projects, and collaborate with engineering teams to deliver innovative data processing solutions.

What You'll Do:

- Contribute actively to Apache Impala and related open source projects.

- Develop and optimize SQL query engines for high-performance analytical workloads.

- Implement columnar storage solutions to maximize query performance and data efficiency.

- Build distributed query processing systems for large-scale datasets.

- Optimize performance of complex analytical operations and SQL queries.

- Collaborate with engineering teams on system integration and deployment.

What we are looking for:

- 10+ years of experience in software development.

- Strong expertise in columnar storage formats and optimization techniques.

- Understanding of distributed systems and query processing.

- Proficiency in systems programming languages (C++, Java, or similar).

- Experience in performance tuning of data systems.

- Core contributions to Apache open source projects (Impala, Spark, Hive, or similar).

- Advanced level of English.
