Job Title: Tendering Specialist – Industrial Projects Department: Contracts Location: Nungambakkam, Chennai Reporting To: Director Job Summary: The Tendering Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating the entire tendering process for industrial projects. This includes evaluating tender documents, preparing cost estimates, coordinating with internal departments and subcontractors, and submitting competitive and compliant bids. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of construction and industrial project requirements and strong analytical and communication skills. Key Responsibilities: 1. Tender Management Review and analyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs. Identify scope of work, project constraints, and client requirements. Plan tender schedules and allocate responsibilities within the team. 2. Cost Estimation and BOQ Preparation Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for civil, structural, MEP, and architectural works. Coordinate with procurement and engineering teams to obtain accurate material and subcontractor pricing. Develop detailed BOQs, cost breakdowns, and pricing templates tailored to industrial projects. 3. Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination Float enquiries and negotiate with suppliers/subcontractors. Evaluate quotations for technical and commercial compliance. Maintain and update a reliable vendor database for industrial works. 4. Documentation & Submission Prepare and compile technical and commercial bid submissions. Ensure all documentation complies with tender requirements, timelines, and formats. Assist in post-submission clarifications and negotiations. 5. Stakeholder Collaboration Work closely with design, engineering, planning, and finance teams to gather necessary inputs. Coordinate with project managers for construction methodology and project timelines. 6. Market & Risk Analysis Analyze market trends and project risks. Recommend strategic pricing and value engineering solutions to enhance bid competitiveness. Desired Qualification & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management / Quantity Surveying or related field. 5+ years of experience in tendering or estimation roles, specifically for industrial construction projects. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, standards, and pricing mechanisms for industrial works. Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation software (e.g., Candy, CostX, Primavera). Experience with contracts like FIDIC or local government procurement processes is an advantage. Job Title Tendering Specialist Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Tendering Specialist located in Chennai. The Tendering Specialist will be responsible for managing the end-to-end tendering process, including preparation, submission, and follow-up of bids. The specialist will also be involved in the analysis of tender documents, proposal writing, and coordination with the procurement team. Effective communication with stakeholders and adherence to deadlines are critical to the success of this role. Assist in preparing Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) for all projects as per the QC & QA Standards. Preparation of detailed construction methodology for all activities. Assist in research & preparation of Quality assurance & Quality construction for new construction activities. Update & maintain all revisions and amendments in QC Manuals. Conduct monthly quality audits in all projects. Raise list of non-conformities to management and take necessary corrective actions. Conduct training program on maintenance of QAP, records, documentation & conduct site testing. To carryout internal / external testing / Lab operations as required. Coordinating in setting up all site laboratories, ensure record keeping. Coordinating with external test agencies for testing and maintaining all records. To carry out random inspections of material for construction work in conjunction with material / purchase / staff as required Responsible for Quality Assurance and Quality Control documents for all projects. Assist in obtaining ISO 9001 accreditation. Ensure compliance of quality standards as per ISO standards. Instigate random inspections of material for construction work in conjunction with material / purchase / staff as required. To visit sites for quality audit and quality assurance of building construction activities in compliance with applicable codes and/or specifications for all the civil, structural, electrical, mechanical or plumbing etc and with safety norms and regulation, on site quality assessment of construction materials, technical audit and compliance report preparation. Desired Skills: Should have B.E./B. Tech Civil with 3-6 yrs of relevant experience in Industrial & Building Construction Sector (Non Residential) The core competencies required to perform the duties include outstanding leadership, to be a self motivated, excellent Communication skills and interpersonal relationships. Candidates should also possess strong analytical skills, an understanding of organizational behavior, the ability to influence, the ability to work on a team, as well as passion, drive, and the ability to self-start. Should be proficient in Ms Office, MSP, Auto CAD, and experience in Build Superfast Construction Software is an added advantage.
