Overview: We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer with deep expertise in industrial communication protocols (e.g., MODBUS, EtherNet/ProfNet) and system integration across multi-vendor environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and commissioning automation solutions, including integration with PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, SCADA, and third-party systems such as energy meters, robotics, and MES/ERP platforms. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, test, and commission industrial automation solutions using PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems. Configure and implement industrial protocols such as MODBUS (RTU/TCP), EtherNet/IP, OPC UA/DA, Profibus/Profinet. Perform complete commissioning of PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs, ensuring reliable system functionality. Integrate and ensure reliable communication with third-party devices and systems (e.g., energy meters, HVAC, fire panels, barcode/RFID, robotics). Create and maintain communication mappings, interface documentation, and control logic specifications. Collaborate with electrical and IT teams to ensure proper network architecture and system performance. Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and upgrades on control systems and industrial networks. Ensure all solutions comply with industry safety standards and cybersecurity practices. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelors degree in electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering. 3+ years of relevant experience in industrial automation projects. Strong hands-on experience in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, or Mitsubishi). Familiarity with SCADA/HMI platforms such as Wonderware, Ignition, FactoryTalk View, iFIX. Strong knowledge of industrial protocols: MODBUS (RTU/TCP), EtherNet/IP, OPC. Experience in field communication integration with VFDs, sensors, and I/O modules. Job Overview We are looking for a proactive and skilled Sr. PLC Engineer with 25 years of experience in PLC programming, SCADA development, and independent site commissioning . The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in Rockwell and/or Siemens PLCs , be confident in handling complete automation projects, and willing to travel for commissioning activities as required. Immediate joiners will be given preference. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for automation projects. Independently execute site commissioning , including installation supervision, loop checking, and system validation. Program and configure Rockwell (Allen-Bradley) and/or Siemens PLCs using RSLogix/Studio 5000 or TIA Portal. Develop and test control logic, interlocks, and alarm sequences as per project requirements. Integrate PLCs with third-party devices and systems using Modbus RTU/TCP and other protocols (Profibus, Ethernet/IP, etc.). Lead FAT/SAT activities and prepare associated test reports and documentation. Troubleshoot automation and control system issues during project execution and commissioning. Collaborate with engineering, electrical, and instrumentation teams to ensure seamless project delivery. Support project engineers and provide guidance to junior team members as needed. Qualifications & Skills Bachelors Degree / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related engineering discipline. 25 years of experience in PLC/SCADA programming, testing, and commissioning. Hands-on experience with: Rockwell Automation (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, RSLogix/Studio 5000) Siemens (S7-300/400/1200/1500, TIA Portal, WinCC) Strong knowledge of Modbus RTU/TCP and industrial communication protocols. Proven ability to handle site commissioning independently . Sound knowledge of control panels, instrumentation, and electrical drawings . Excellent communication and client interaction skills.
