About AnswerThis AnswerThis is an AI-powered research platform built to eliminate the most time-consuming part of academic research: the literature review. We serve researchers globally, from PhD students to academic professionals, helping them go from query to a comprehensive, cited review in minutes. Our system understands how papers connect, ranks relevance, summarizes insights, and maps citations — removing weeks of manual work. But that’s just the beginning. We’re building a vertically integrated AI research suite that streamlines every stage of academic discovery. This is a high-velocity, high-impact product environment. If you’ve ever wanted to ship fast, take real ownership, and contribute to technology used by researchers making breakthroughs in medicine, AI, climate, and more — this is it. The Role We’re hiring our first UI / UX designer — a full-time role for someone who deeply understands user-centered design, ships fast, and isn’t afraid to talk to users. You’ll: Wireframe and prototype new ideas based on direct user feedback and behavioral data. Conduct user interviews regularly to validate hypotheses and refine UX flows. Turn rough workflows into clean, intuitive interfaces that solve real researcher pain. Design in Figma and bring those designs to life —first in Framer for marketing, then as functional React components in production. Own the full experience from idea to implementation , with full autonomy and high standards. Talk to at least one user per day to stay grounded in actual needs. Have taste — and defend it. This role is for someone who blends strategy, aesthetics, and execution. You’ll need to think like a product manager, design like an artist, and code like a front-end engineer. Requirements Wireframing & UX: Able to move from low-fidelity sketches to high-fidelity prototypes grounded in user research. User Research: Comfortable leading user interviews, extracting insights, and iterating quickly. Design: Advanced skill with Figma for prototyping and layout; confident handling responsive and component-based systems. Framer: Able to build polished landing/product pages that convert well and feel on-brand. Styling: Fluent in Tailwind or other utility-first CSS frameworks. SEO: Understands how design and structure impact page rankings and visibility. Mindset: Fast, thoughtful, opinionated, and relentlessly user-focused. Compensation $12,000–$24,000/year depending on experience, skill, and scope of ownership. This is a full-time role with significant creative control and long-term upside.
