Roles and Responsibilities Prepare the OT before surgeries by ensuring all equipment, instruments and suppliers are sterile and ready. Assist the surgical team during operations by passing instruments and supplies. Coordinate with the anesthetist regarding patient conditions and anesthesia requirements. Handle surgical speciments correctly and ensure proper documents. Support patients emotionally and physically pre- and post-surgery. Maintain accurate records of procedures, supplies used, and patient details. Perform counts of surgical instruments, sponges and needles with the surgical team. Provide post-operative care in the recovesry room, monitoring patients until they regain consciousness. Maintain OT inventory and requisition necessary supplies. Participate in continuous professional development and training.
