Job Description for Research Associate Role In this role you will work across different projects to assess a building material's impact on energy and comfort performance along with facilitating new product development with BU teams. You will primarily use simulation software and onsite measurements to quantify the product's performance. We are looking for professionals who are self-motivated, can independently design and plan experiments, good in data analysis and preparing report for internal teams and external clients. The domain expertise is required in the following areas: daylighting, thermal and energy assessment through simulations and onsite measurements, MATLAB/Python basic knowledge, data monitoring and visualization. Key Accountabilities Perform climate analysis and understand the outdoor conditions for Indian, European and American cities Conduct whole building simulations that quantify energy consumption, thermal comfort and visual comfort in different building types, such as, offices, residences, hotels, hospitals, etc. Data analysis of simulation outputs using appropriate tools and compare it with various international or local standards like ASHRAE, ECBC, NBC etc. Prepare a standardized report of the analysis and use appropriate infographics to showcase the result effectively Work with the in-house team to optimize the simulation process and reduce the overall time of analysis and report generation Support Glass and Gypsum R&D teams for developing arguments to support products prescription Support BU R&D teams in new products developments Conduct onsite measurements for multi-comfort (thermal, visual, AQ, acoustics) assessment inside buildings The candidate should be enthusiastic to explore and develop new products leveraging publication, journals and university collaboration Preferred candidate profile Master's degree or equivalent in Building Science/Energy Efficiency/Thermal/Mechanical/Instrumentation / Civil /Architecture. Prior knowledge of building science principles, multi-comfort parameters and international and local standards (like ASHRAE, ECBC, NBC etc.) Proficiency in software, such as, Design Builder, Rhino, Grasshopper, Ladybug, Diva, LightStanza, Oneclick is a must Knowledge of tools like AutoCAD and Sketchup is highly desirable Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and must be well organized and punctual Experience with data acquisition, instrument control, and instrumentation configurations would be an add-on Knowledge of post processing software related to big-data like MATLAB and MS excel

Enable project selection and management of prioritized opportunities, especially in circularity. Provide hands-on guidance to businesses for Product Compliance as a facilitator. Work closely with teams in manufacturing and marketing to formulate action plans towards excellence in Product Compliance. Coordinate center Sustainability activities Participate in center-level cross-business and transversal activities as part of the Site Excellence Team. Develop a robust external ecosystem for Sustainability, including startups, academia, suppliers, customers, and other partners. Identify opportunities for business growth through exploratory projects and pilots. Leverage global resources to deploy technologies and platforms, enabling quick conversion of opportunities to business growth effectively and efficiently. Manage and document progress through effective communication to different stakeholders, including generating high-quality technical reports. Develop self scientific knowledge within the organization through initiatives like seminars/webinars and training. Desired skills & Experience: Desired: Experience in Sustainability, Tools : GABI, accompanied by knowledge in principles of LCA and EPD, Circularity, Scope 1,2,3 emissions, etc. Domain knowledge in chemical engineering, manufacturing process control and optimization are welcome as well. Desired: Work experience of 5+ years in an organization of repute in the field of research or process development. Experience in an R&D organization is a definite plus. Desired: Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must. Proven two-way communication skills to deliver the right messages convincingly with right structuring adapted to the target audience.
