Job Description We are looking for a skilled Transformer Design Engineer with strong fundamentals in electrical engineering and hands-on experience in transformer design and analysis. The ideal candidate should be proficient in design software, technically strong, and able to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop transformer components as per customer requirements and industry standards. Perform magnetic circuit design, winding design, insulation selection, and thermal/cooling calculations. Prepare detailed drawings and design documents using CAD tools. Work closely with production and testing teams to ensure design feasibility and quality. Assist in troubleshooting and optimizing transformer performance. Conduct data analysis and prepare reports using MS Excel. Coordinate with internal teams and customers to understand technical requirements. Technical Skills Required: Strong knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals circuit theory, EM theory, electrical machines. Experience/Knowledge in transformer design principles magnetic circuit, winding design, insulation systems, cooling methods. Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Solid Edge, or equivalent). Strong mathematical skills (algebra, calculus, geometry) for design calculations. Good understanding of materials science – insulation materials, magnetic materials, conductors. Proficiency in MS Excel for calculations, data analysis, and reporting. Soft Skills: Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and customers. Effective problem-solving abilities for design optimisation and troubleshooting. Team player with excellent collaboration skills. Good time management and ability to handle multiple tasks.
