Job Summary: The General Manager Production is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and control of manufacturing processes in the woven garment production unit. The role ensures that garments are produced efficiently, cost-effectively, and at the right quality and delivery standards. Key Responsibilities: Production Management: Oversee daily production activities and ensure smooth operations of all production units (cutting, sewing, finishing, and packing). Monitor production schedules, quality standards, and targets. Ensure on-time delivery of orders as per buyer requirements. Planning & Coordination: Collaborate with merchandising, planning, and procurement departments to align production goals. Develop and implement effective production planning systems and strategies. Optimize use of manpower, materials, and machinery. Quality Control: Work closely with QA/QC teams to ensure adherence to quality standards. Implement corrective actions for any quality-related issues in the production line. Efficiency Improvement: Analyze production data and identify areas for improvement in productivity and efficiency. Initiate lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen, etc.). Team Management: Lead, motivate, and manage the performance of the production team including line supervisors, floor in-charges, and production managers. Build capability through training and development. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all operations adhere to labor laws, safety standards, and compliance requirements. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments. Cost Control: Manage production budgets and control costs while maintaining quality and delivery. Required Qualifications & Experience: Bachelors Degree in Textile Engineering / Industrial Engineering / Garment Technology. Masters preferred. Minimum 1215 years of experience in woven garment production, with at least 5 years in a senior management role. Strong technical knowledge of woven garments manufacturing processes. Hands-on experience with production planning tools and ERP systems. Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities: Production Efficiency Improvement : Analyze current production processes and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, productivity, and cost reduction. Implement Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to optimize workflow. Monitor and analyze labor productivity and machine utilization. Line Balancing : Plan and balance production lines to maximize efficiency and reduce bottlenecks. Ensure optimal manpower allocation and machine setup for smooth workflow. Method Development & Standardization : Develop, document, and standardize work methods for garment production processes. Establish Standard Minute Value (SMV) for each operation and ensure accurate time studies. Production Planning & Control : Work closely with the planning and merchandising teams to align production schedules with delivery deadlines. Monitor production progress and ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards. Data Analysis & Reporting : Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Prepare detailed reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as efficiency, rejection rates, and downtime. Capacity Utilization : Evaluate factory and department capacity and ensure optimal utilization. Forecast production capacity requirements based on orders and plan accordingly. Training & Development : Provide training to supervisors, line leaders, and operators on new methods and processes. Ensure workers understand standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols. Quality Assurance : Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure processes meet quality standards. Troubleshoot quality-related issues and implement corrective actions. Cost Optimization : Conduct cost analysis to identify and reduce waste, excess materials, or unnecessary steps. Qualifications & Requirements: Education : Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Textile Engineering, or a related field. Experience : Minimum 5-7 years of experience in the garment industry, specifically in woven garments. At least 2-3 years in a senior or supervisory role. Technical Skills : Proficiency in industrial engineering tools like GSD (General Sewing Data), time-motion studies, and AutoCAD. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies. Software Skills : MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) ERP systems knowledge is a plus. Communication : Strong communication and leadership skills for interacting with cross-functional teams. Language : Proficiency in English and relevant local language.

Sr. Merchandiser /Merchandiser Chennai 5 - 10 years INR 0.5 - 3.0 Lacs P.A. Work from Office Full Time

Roles and Responsibilities 1. Responsible for corresponding with the buyer regarding Package Date, Costing and Samples availability. 2. Responsible for Preparation, updating and compilation of cost sheets. 3. Responsible for review of Samples for construction, fall, fit, drape and wash prior to sending to buyer and should forward the same to R&D comments. 4. Ensure raw materials and style approvals are available in time to meet package date. 5. Responsible for filling in Delay Schedule and to be given to Sr.Merchandiser for ratification and a copy to be given to Document Co-ordinator. 6. Responsible for Preparing Production package consisting of check- list, pattern mini-marker, approved sample with comments on a white patch. 7. Production file which contains fab and trim swatches spec sheets,all comments,wash stds,emb/print swatches and any other relevant swatches should b handed over to P.P.C department after reviewing with the Sr.Merchandiser. 8. Responsible to attend Pre-production meeting with the factory/Production Manager 9. Responsible to review of production in the factory preferably on Wednesday post lunch session. 10. Responsible to send in Shipment schedule to Commercial Department preferably on Thursday. 11. Responsible to update all concerned departments on the confirmed orders. 12. Responsible to sign all approvals for fabric and trims. 13. Ensure Weekly review of Production chart and give feedback on the same. 14. Responsible to check & approve trims swatch card when received from MMC after the review of PPC department. 16. Responsible for Controlling and Co-ordinating all activities of staff working under him.
