AI Development Lead

As an AI Development Team Lead at our company, you will play a crucial role in managing and mentoring a team of AI Engineers and Data Scientists. Your responsibilities will include leading the design, architecture, and development of scalable AI/ML solutions, setting the technical direction, and fostering a collaborative team culture. Here is a breakdown of your key responsibilities: - Lead the design, architecture, and development of scalable, high-performance AI/ML solutions. - Drive the team's technical strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and product vision. - Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and ensure the quality and robustness of AI models and applications. - Lead, mentor, and coach a team of AI professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning, growth, and excellence. - Manage team performance, conduct regular 1:1 meetings, and support the career development of team members. - Oversee the end-to-end AI/ML project lifecycle, from initial research and data collection to model training, deployment, and monitoring. - Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and other engineering teams to define project requirements, manage timelines, and deliver on objectives. - Lead the team in tackling complex, ambiguous problems and translating business requirements into clear technical specifications. - Clearly communicate project progress, technical decisions, and the business impact of AI solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Act as a key liaison between the AI team and senior leadership. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field. - 7+ years of experience in AI/ML roles, with at least 2-3 years in a technical leadership, team lead, or management role. - Deep expertise in Python and a strong command of machine learning and deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow). - Proven experience with the full AI development lifecycle, including data engineering, model development, and production deployment. - Hands-on experience with MLOps principles and tools (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow, Docker, Kubernetes). - Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for AI/ML. - Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and mentor a high-performing technical team. - Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build consensus and collaborate effectively across teams. In addition to the above qualifications, the following would be considered as bonus points: - Experience with Generative AI technologies, including LLMs, RAG, and fine-tuning. - Experience in a specific industry such as FinTech, Healthcare, E-commerce, or SaaS. - A portfolio of successfully launched and impactful AI projects. - Contributions to open-source AI/ML projects or publications in relevant forums.
