About Aforro Aforro is building the backbone infrastructure that will empower thousands of kirana stores to play in a whole new game — matching the speed, efficiency, and intelligence of quick-commerce giants without the burn. This is a ground-up tech build, and we’re looking for someone who can think beyond tickets and tasks, and truly own systems end-to-end. What You Will Do Build backend systems from scratch — no legacy code, no shortcuts. Take complete ownership of the product cycle: architecture → development → testing → deployment → monitoring. Design and implement complex, scalable system architectures for Inventory, order and delivery routing, payments, referral engine, retailer operations and more. Lead and guide backend interns, ensuring quality, clarity, and development speed. Work directly with founders to translate business flows into robust technical solutions. Optimize performance, reliability, and data consistency across high-frequency modules. Manage databases, queues, cron jobs, integrations, internal tools, and API layers. Debug deeply, move fast, and maintain stability as we scale. You Should Have 1–2 years of hands-on experience in backend development (Python mandatory) Strong experience with Django and building REST APIs. Solid understanding of system design, scalability principles, and asynchronous processing. Strong command over PostgreSQL and data modelling. Experience with caching, queues (e.g., Redis, Celery), cron jobs, and background workers. Comfortable deploying on cloud and working with Git. Ability to break down complex business requirements into clean technical flows. A startup mindset — ownership, speed, accountability, and bias for action.
