Oversee acquisition, leasing, or disposal of fleet vehicles. Maintain a database of vehicle specifications, usage, and performance. • Schedule and track regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs. Ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance regulations (local and national). Monitor fuel consumption and identify ways to reduce costs. Negotiate contracts with vendors for fuel, parts, or maintenance. Analyze fleet expenses and generate cost-efficiency reports. Develop and manage the fleet budget. Assign vehicles and drivers to routes and jobs efficiently. Use fleet management software to track vehicle locations and schedules. Optimize routes to increase efficiency and reduce fuel consumption. Maintain all necessary documentation for licensing, insurance, and inspections. Investigate accidents and coordinate repairs and insurance claims. Recruit, train, and supervise drivers and mechanics. Evaluate driver performance and enforce company policies. Develop schedules and resolve driver-related issues. Generate reports on fuel usage, mileage, maintenance costs, and vehicle performance. Use GPS tracking to monitor fleet activity.
