Role Overview AES is seeking a Proposal Engineer with 4 - 8 years of experience to support project proposal development across Industrial Automation, New Product Development (NPD), and CAE projects . The role involves creating automation concepts, preparing cost and timeline estimates, drafting technical proposals, coordinating with vendors/customers, and supporting business development activities. The ideal candidate combines technical understanding of mechatronic systems with strong analytical, costing, and communication skills Responsibilities & Key Deliverables Develop automation concepts and layouts based on customer requirements and feasibility studies. Prepare detailed technical and commercial proposals for Automation , NPD , and CAE projects. Estimate project cost, manpower effort, and delivery timelines using internal data and vendor quotations. Coordinate with design, simulation, and controls teams to define system architecture and scope of supply. Create proposal documents including BOM, functional description, process flow, and technical assumptions. Evaluate and source quotations from vendors for automation components, subsystems, and fabrication. Collaborate with customers for technical clarifications, scope finalization, and budget alignment. Support business development and marketing teams with technical inputs for presentations, brochures, and case studies. Maintain and update internal costing databases and proposal templates. Participate in internal design and review meetings to ensure proposal alignment with engineering capabilities. Assist in project handover to execution teams after order finalization, ensuring smooth transition. Qualifications B.E./B.Tech in Mechatronics Engineering (mandatory). 4 - 8 years of experience in industrial automation proposal building, project estimation, or engineering sales. Required Skills Strong understanding of automation systems , including mechanical, electrical, and control integration. Hands-on knowledge of robotics, conveyors, pneumatics, sensors, and PLC systems preferred. Experience in cost estimation, BOM preparation , and timeline planning for engineering projects. Experience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD ) for concept development and layout visualization. Basic understanding of CAE tools (FEA/CFD) for effort estimation and integration with design proposals. Excellent written and verbal communication for proposal documentation and client coordination. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ability to prepare professional proposals. General Attributes Excellent communication and presentation skills.
