Job Summary The New Product Development (NPD) Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, and introduction of new products from concept to production. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with R&D, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and marketing teams to ensure innovative, high-quality, and cost-effective products are brought to market efficiently. Key Responsibilities Product Design & Development Design and develop new products or product improvements using CAD and engineering tools. Conduct feasibility studies, design validation, and prototyping. Project Management Manage new product development projects from concept through launch. Develop and maintain project timelines, budgets, and resource plans. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met. Testing & Validation Plan and perform design verification and validation testing. Analyze test data and implement design changes to meet performance, reliability, and safety standards. Support compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements. Manufacturing Support Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA). Participate in pilot builds and production ramp-up. Support process development, tooling, and production documentation. Continuous Improvement Evaluate existing products for performance improvement opportunities. Implement design modifications to enhance quality, reduce cost, or improve functionality. Documentation Create and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, test reports, and design history files. Support change control processes and product lifecycle management systems. Costing Reports Related to New product development. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field). Experience: 2–5+ years of experience in product design and development, Having Casting & Fabrication parts knowledge. Experience background : Casting & Fabrication parts Manufacturing Industries. Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD). Knowledge of product development methodologies (Stage-Gate, Agile, etc.). Familiarity with materials selection, prototyping, and manufacturing processes (machining, casting, etc.). Understanding of quality systems (ISO, Six Sigma). Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Strong organizational and project management capabilities. Creativity and innovation mindset.
