We deliver innovative, secure, and scalable technology that powers critical operations worldwide. About the Role Scale Computing is seeking a mid-level Cloud Engineer to help modernize and simplify our multi-cloud infrastructure by transforming legacy systems into scalable, AWS- and GCP-native services. This role will play a key part in reducing our EC2 and Compute Engine footprint, eliminating technical debt, and shifting workloads toward Lambda, Fargate, Cloud Run, and other managed serverless platforms. Youll lead efforts to dismantle monolithic EC2- and VM-hosted applications, replacing them with well-documented, cost-efficient, event-driven architectures built on services such as AWS Lambda, GCP Cloud Functions, S3, Cloud Storage, DynamoDB, and Firestore. You’ll also automate infrastructure with Terraform, manage configuration using Puppet across hybrid environments, and help standardize cloud operations spanning AWS and GCP. This is a hybrid position based in Bengaluru, India What You'll Do Legacy Modernization & Multi-Cloud Transformation Decompose EC2- and Compute Engine-hosted legacy systems and re-architect components into AWS- and GCP-native services (Lambda, ECS/Fargate, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, S3, Cloud Storage, SQS, Pub/Sub, etc.). Refactor infrastructure for scalability, modularity, and cost efficiency across both clouds. Identify and eliminate underutilized compute resources to drive EC2 and VM footprint reduction. Infrastructure as Code & Configuration Management Build and maintain multi-cloud infrastructure with Terraform and manage configuration using Puppet. Standardize deployments across AWS and GCP environments with reusable modules and CI/CD automation pipelines. Maintain clear, version-controlled documentation for all infrastructure components and workflows. Monitoring, Security, and Operations Implement alerting, logging, and compliance monitoring using AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Config, GCP Cloud Monitoring, and Cloud Logging. Enforce security best practices through IAM/Cloud IAM policies, Security Group and VPC-level configurations, and secrets management with AWS Secrets Manager and GCP Secret Manager. Requirements Required Qualifications: 3–5 years of experience as a Cloud, DevOps, or Platform Engineer in production environments. Strong hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, Lambda, IAM, VPC, S3, CloudWatch, etc.) and/or GCP (Compute Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Cloud Monitoring, etc.). Proficiency with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code and Puppet for configuration management. Demonstrated experience modernizing legacy infrastructure and reducing reliance on EC2 and traditional VM-based workloads. Scripting experience in Python or Bash for automation and tooling. Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, IAM/Cloud IAM, and Linux-based systems.
