ROLE SUMMARY We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to build our sales organization from the ground up and drive national expansion across India's aquaculture sector. This is a foundational role where you'll have complete autonomy to develop our go-to-market strategy, build a high-performing sales team, and establish AB Probiotics as a market leader. We are currently in an expansion phase and are looking for a seasoned leader to establish and grow our footprint in the Gujarat region. Role Overview We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead our operations in Gujarat. The ideal candidate has deep-rooted connections within the Gujarat aquaculture community, a strong understanding of the local market dynamics, and a proven track record of selling healthcare or feed additive products to farmers and dealers. Key Responsibilities 1. Market Development & Strategy Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base in the Gujarat region. Identify new market opportunities and untapped potential in key aquaculture belts (e.g., Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Bharuch, and Saurashtra). Launch new probiotic products effectively in the market. 2. Channel & Stakeholder Management Appoint, manage, and motivate a network of distributors and dealers across Gujarat to ensure product availability. Build strong, trust-based relationships with key opinion leaders, consultants, and large-scale shrimp/fish farmers. 3. Sales & Revenue Generation Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales volume and revenue targets. Implement aggressive sales strategies to maximize market share against competitors. 4. Technical Support & Education Conduct farmer meetings and technical seminars to educate customers on the benefits of AB Probiotics products. Provide on-ground technical support regarding product application and farm management. 5. Market Intelligence Monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, and new product launches. Provide regular feedback to the head office regarding market trends and customer needs. Candidate Profile & Requirements Education: B.F.Sc (Bachelor of Fisheries Science), B.Sc/M.Sc in Biology/Zoology, or a related degree in Aquaculture/Agri-business. Experience: Minimum 8 to 10 years of hard-core sales experience in the Aquaculture Healthcare/Feed Supplement industry. Must have specific experience working in the Gujarat market. Key Skills: Existing network of aquaculture dealers and farmers in Gujarat. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Fluency in Gujarati , Hindi, and English.
